DSV has opened a $90 million logistics complex in Laredo, Texas, adding capacity for freight travelling between the US and Mexico, FreightWaves reported. The 853,000-square-foot facility brings together storage, transport, customs brokerage, stock management and distribution, with the company announcing the opening on Wednesday.

The multi-client site sits alongside Interstate 35 at one of the busiest US gateways for trade with Mexico. Its opening comes as shippers retain strong bargaining power with local carriers, according to FreightWaves SONAR data cited in the report. Laredo’s Outbound Tender Rejection Index stood at 5.10% on 21 October, down from 8.15% a month earlier, providing a freight-market backdrop to the additional logistics capacity.

The complex can handle cross-docking, e-commerce fulfilment, distribution and cross-border transport, alongside inventory management. It also provides bonded warehouse space and Foreign-Trade Zone storage. Customs capabilities cover northbound US shipments and Mexican customs processing on site. According to the report, these services are intended to shorten delays, simplify clearance and give shippers better visibility over goods moving across the border; it did not quantify any resulting time or cost savings.

DSV began construction in July 2025 on a 49-acre plot in Majestic Realty’s Port Grande Logistics Park. The wider industrial development spans 2,000 acres. Combining the different logistics functions at the Laredo location is part of DSV’s broader effort to strengthen its North American cross-border network, rather than a stand-alone expansion of warehouse space.

That programme also includes a recently opened McAllen office in Texas. Together, the Laredo and McAllen locations supplement DSV’s existing border operations in Brownsville, El Paso and Los Indios, Texas, and San Diego, California. Josh Summers, DSV’s chief executive for Contract Logistics in North America, presented the Laredo investment as part of the company’s strategy to expand scale and provide more flexible logistics services for customers. DSV’s worldwide network employs approximately 150,000 people across more than 90 countries, FreightWaves reported.
